Atticus likes to go to the Burning Lake. To figure out what happened to it. As he came from that area. Atticus uses a flying potion to scout the lake from above. He sees shapes that mouth words. He can read "Soon". He feels his flying is wearing off, but there is a path he can walk back it seems. Meldor sends him a message.
While Atticus tries to walk out of the Burning Lake, he is attacked by a mangled creature. He gets visions but tries to get out. Seeing all kind of creatures. He manages to get out but scorched.
We link up and share info. Eventually we decide that this is not the time and the place to close the gate.

The Apothicary guy shares with Meldor that Old Ciarta was fine. The Ember Empire definitly has something to do with that. The archdevil doesn't allow portals towards hell.
Most people in New Ciarta will probably not like the Ember Empire.
We visit the Flames Echo a shrine from the Fire God. An elven women greats us. She is prepairing a ritual. Libela the god of rebirth and flames. She tells that she ran away from Old Ciarta when the lake turned. She tells that the souls that burned there were lucky and changed. They got rid of their mortal flesh.
She tells us that she has phrases, but she doesn't understand all of them

We think she is leading people in there to their death. Meldor tries to get the name of the first follower to go to the center of the lake. But he can't decive the priest. Atticus gets a message from the priest telling him that it's not all what it seems. Atticus guesses that she is not an elf but something else.
The letters of Libela can spell Belial. Might they be the same.
In the mean time Dr. Byron Dark is trying to channel the energy of the Burning Lake into The Gem of Dusk. Erza detected that the priest is a fiend. We might need to end this priest with the crossbow of Jacomus Valerius to suck up the soul.
We discuss that Atticus goes to speak with the priest. If that goes south we try to get rid of her. Jacomus Valerius's familier goes in with him. She asks him if he is an agent of chaos. She tells that Belial is not behind it. The Ember Empire made a bargan with Belial. The Heatlines is an infernal design. But they got greedy and wanted to tap into the heat of flagatos. The Ember Empire tried to create a machine arround the Burning Lake to tap the heat from it.
She spots the bird and tries to attack it. But she misses. Atticus tries to convince her to stop taking souls from this place. She asks Atticus to make a contract. "When ever the ember empire is destoyed, she can take all souls of the fallen soldies of the ember empires. If we don't succeed or comply Atticus soul and his loved onces are forfitted to the hells." She also suggests if Atticus can drop the message that Bronn Matias is opening illegal portals to the hells.
Atticus sold his soul.... again?
