Backstory

I am Gideon, a Human Blood Hunter, born into a lycanthrope family, and trained within the enigmatic Order of the Lycan. My life started within the oppressive embrace of the Ember Empire, a place where survival was determined by your worth and your ability to adapt to the cutthroat atmosphere. I had been raised amidst the unforgiving cold of the Calor.

My family had long since adapted to the lycanthropic curse that coursed through our veins. It was a secret we guarded fiercely, a lineage that the Ember Empire would view with both fear and disgust. We were skilled in harnessing our inner beasts, part of an order of lycanthropes who called ourselves the Guardians of the Lycan. In the darkest hours of the night, we would venture into the wilderness, where we would shift into our lycanthropic forms, our raw power and instincts channeled for the sake of survival.

In my early years, I was a staunch supporter of the empire's ideals. The Ember Emperor's iron rule had promised order and stability, but as I grew, I began to see the dark underbelly of this regime. The so-called freedom that was promised was a mere illusion, only attainable through unwavering loyalty and unwavering adherence to their military-based, emotionless principles. My family struggled, and I couldn't ignore the stark disparity between the privileged and the downtrodden.

Though to survive I took a job as a bounty hunter for the empire, working from the little traders town of "Frostgate Market" for the [[The Frost Traders Guild]]. Though it payed well, it's a decision I now deeply regret. Being a slave for their oppression of anything they think does not belong here.

My last job was to hunt for this fairy named Willow. A job that almost killed me. But she saved me. This was the moment I needed to change it all. Gideon tracked Willow down and was close to capturing her. As Willow tried to escape, she tricked him mid chase. Acting as she was running over some piece of unstable glacial ice. Gideon focused on trying to grab Willow didn't notice she was flying instead of running. He mis stepped and the glacial ice below him cracked and he fell, deep into a glacier. During the fall he broke several bones and was knocked unconscious. In these temperatures surely a place where he would have died. If it wasn’t for Willow.

I yearned for true freedom, not the illusion of it. Something inside me rebelled against the empire's cruel system, and I couldn't turn a blind eye any longer. I knew it was time to leave, to seek a different path. The ember of rebellion ignited in my heart, driving me to search for [[the resistance]], a shadowy hope in the minds of those who had suffered.

My quest led me to the [[Lost Isle]], a once-thriving land until the empire severed it from the rest of the world. The island was said to be a refuge for those who dared to oppose the empire. Armed with courage and determination, I abandoned my life and set sail for the [[Lost Isle]], my lycanthropic instincts mingling with my desire for change.

Now, as a Blood Hunter and bounty hunter, I find myself on a perilous journey, ever vigilant against the dangers of this harsh world. My lycanthropic lineage grants me power, and my training within the Order of the Lycan gives me control. With every step, I'm driven by the need to uncover Ember Empire. I am Gideon, a hunter of both blood and hope, seeking to bring change to the [[Ember Core]] and the world I call home.
